Owl Prowl at the Butterfly House in Faust Park. Enjoy learning about native Missouri owls in the Lopata Learning Lab then head outdoors into the park and use owl calls to encourage owls to come close. Be prepared for a half-mile walk. The Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House, located in Faust Park, is an extension of the Missouri Botanical Garden. Visitors are able to walk through the Butterfly Conservatory which houses more than a thousand free flight tropical butterflies of 60 species from around the world and watch a new butterfly emerge from one of hundreds of chrysalises! The Conservatory is kept warm for a perfect butterfly habitat. Visitors should dress appropriately! An admission fee is charged. Children 3 and under are free. Educational classes and events are available throughout the year. Butterfly House hours are 9am-4pm, Tuesday through Saturday. (FREE on the first Tuesday of every month, between 10am - 12pm, for St. Louis County and City residents with proof of residency.)
